About us

p&e Law are a small specialised firm. Values are central to our practice and reflect the way that we want to treat and be treated.  Our core values are:

  • Quality, Specialist, Dedicated, Skilled and Happy Team
  • Supporting and Imparting Knowledge
  • Lifestyle Flexibility
  • Individual Expertise
  • Maintain Healthy & Friendly Environment

Those values have been confirmed by all of the members of the firm at three firm retreats, one in the Daintree in 2007, one at Mount Tambourine in 2010 and our most recent at Cedar Creek Falls Retreat in 2015.

p&e Law operate a flat structure for legal work in the office with a director supervising the work of other lawyers.  There are not numerous tiers as in other firms.

We place an emphasis upon education of both ourselves and our clients and ultimately seek to make a positive difference.

Michael Neal established Michael Neal Lawyers in Cairns in March 2000 dealing predominately with native title and cultural heritage matters.  Related planning and environment issues had to be addressed.

Lestar Manning established p&e Law, an acronym for planning and environment law in 2003 after operating as Lestar Manning Lawyer since 1997. p&e Law predominately deals with planning and environmental matters. Related native title and cultural heritage issues needed to be addressed.

On 30 June 2006 the two firms merged with obvious benefits to each.

p&e Law is now a well-known specialist legal practice with Matt Patterson and Andrew Williams joining Lestar and Michael as directors of the firm.

p&e Law have expanded the practice recently to include a third office in Chinchilla.  This expansion is due to continued growth in the region and our commitment to providing the best possible service to our clients.
